School is out for Summer!

Today was finally the last day of first grade! It has been an amazing year!  I truly hate to see it end!  Emma has come so far and done so well.  I love every member of her team and feel that we have been blessed with an amazing support team for our sweet girl!  We are truly blessed to be at the school we are at and with the staff we have!  But it is time for fun and sun!

Her school asked us to decorate our cars if we pick them up!  It was fun to see us all out there decorating and laughing!  The kids loved it and we all honked and cheered as we left!  It was a noisy, fun dismissal!
Here she came last walk down the drive for a few weeks:)
Now to get her to remember she will be in second not third grade!  Slow down sweet girl, one grade at a time!  She was excited about her new golf game and new hairbands!
Her amazing teacher!  We will miss her! She has been so good for Emma.  We started the year barely knowing her alphabet and her sounds and now she is reading and trying so hard!  I am so proud of her progress and thankful for this lady who made it all possible!
After a short play date with friends and the excitement of waiting on sissy, he passed out on the way home!

 Special treat lunch!
Then after a nice nap, we went to a local park for a birthday party.  The funny thing was it was part of a bigger community event of watching Frozen at dark!  So, we got dressed up to go to the party and watch her favorite movie!  Love my little Anna!
 Friends!
making her friend into a snowman!
 Silly little reindeer!
Despite the storm that blew through and the soggy blankets from the rain, we had a great time!

Emma singing to "let it go"!!!

What a fun start to what I pray will be an amazing summer!!  look out world Summer 2014 is here!!

Field Day, fires and Family

Friday was field day for Emma!  It was really hot, but she had a great morning!  The school gave each child a very bright orange shirt and Emma was so excited to get a new shirt.  We only decided to stay half a day, due to the heat and physical activity Emma was pretty tired.  I had spent most of the morning with her and when I asked if she wanted to go home she said yes.  I was really surprised because last year she stayed all day.  But between the heat and her leg really bothering her she was done.  But we had a lot of fun that morning!

Daniel got to come for a short time and here is a really bad shot of the three of us.

I think this was Emma's favorite race, the water cup race! She smiled the whole time, and I was expressed on how fast she moved!

She also enjoyed this version of corn hole.  I think it was because it was inside in the gym!
water pop break on the front porch of the school
The hula hoop!  Best part was when her principle came out and did it with them:)
Emma took this picture of me trying to do it too!
three legged race with her friend!

Sunday we stayed at home and relaxed for most of the day.  Emma had gotten sick the night before and we let her rest and sleep most of the day.  But after quick trip to home depot we came home and had a fire.  Emma had been begging us to have one and we went for it.  We had a great time!
Taylor only likes the to eat the smores stuff one thing at a time, not as a whole thing.  Here he is eating his chocolate!
Emma just likes to roast them for me to eat!  She did a great job and I ate three!!
 Yummy!
After the kids went to bed, we sat outside and talked till after 11 and it was really nice and relaxing!

Memorial day fun with family!!  We headed to my aunt's house for a cookout with some of the family.  The kids really love their trampoline that is low to the ground!  I love it to, I am not so scared of them getting hurt.

 Just a swinging!

 giggles!
One of my cousin's found this turtle on the side of the road and rescued it.  Taylor spent most of the day seeing if it would come out of it's shell.  I think his head is out in this picture.  But sadly it never really moved.  Taylor liked checking on it however.

It was a great few days! Now on to the last week of school for Emma!!!!  First grade is almost over and second grade is on the rise!

Creepy, Crawly Bugs!

Today we attended a members only preview for the new Bugs Exhibit at Cheekwood!  We grabbed dinner from Subway, threw our blanket in the car and headed out for some after hours fun!  Taylor has been so excited for this night for weeks!!! He loved every minute of it!

There were two interactive bugs and the caterpillar/butterfly one is right inside the garden!  The kids loved playing and exploring it!

I could not believe he actually went down the slide without me having to climb up there to help him, but he did it twice and loved it.

Emma finally got to go down, it took some help but it worked and she was thrilled!
It was a really fun night and a great nod towards summer!  One more week of school for sweet girl and then we can have many more adventures!  I can tell you that Taylor already wants to go back to the bugs.  Looking forward to exploring them many more times this summer!
